You cannot deny the fact that oil prices are very high and increasing every month. Petrol prices range from 36 pesos to 40 pesos per liter. If you want to keep up with it, you need to learn how to economically save money on petrol usage.
Here are a few tips I learned here and there.
- Limit yourself to the speed limit. As speed increases, the gas usage decreases gas efficiency.
- Check your tire pressure. Gauge your tires whenever you have the chance. This will save you gas mileage.
- Remove unnecessary weight, especially the heavy ones. The more weight you have on your vehicle, the more gas it needs to move.
- Don’t use the air-conditioner. Roll-down the windows to let the cool air get in.
- Purchase petrol during the cooler times of the day. It said that gas is denser in cooler temperatures thus getting more gas with same price.
- Tune up your car. Cleaning your car will increase its fuel efficiency.
- Choose an efficient car fuel. There are brands available in the market that gives you more mileage that outweighs the higher price.
- Don’t warm-up sooner. A minute is enough for warm-up even the cold morning.
- Listen to the news. Get a full-tank before the oil price hike. This could save you up to 1 peso per liter.
- Take a ride. Simply don’t take your car if you don’t really need it for a trip. You can try taking the train, jeep or the bus.
