Multiply is a social site built to share digital content. Multiply creates a social network where users can collect and share photos and videos.
In the Philippines, it has grown to be the the 5th largest site in the Philippines with more than 2 million unique monthly visitors. With that sort of traffic, ABS-CBN (yes, the ABS-CBN network) and Multiply has come to terms. ABS-CBN, will be selling advertising and mobile services for Multiply’s Filipino users. Both will profit by sharing revenues from it.
According to Alexa ratings, Asia accounts for no less than 37% of the traffic. Philippines accounts for 36.1% of the traffic.
Multiply.com users come from these countries according to Alexa:
| Philippines | 36.1% |
| Indonesia | 12.3% |
| Singapore | 7.4% |
| Thailand | 6.1% |
| Malaysia | 5.6% |
| United States | 5.5% |
| Brunei | 1.0% |
| Vietnam | 1.0% |
| United Kingdom | 0.8% |
| Canada | 0.7% |
| Hong Kong | 0.7% |
| Australia | 0.6% |
| Japan | 0.5% |
| Mexico | 0.5% |
| India | 0.4% |
I am predicting that a lot of networks, advertisers and publishers will follow the footsteps of ABS-CBN and will be open to internet advertising in the near future.
How do you think this will affect the advertising industry in the Philippines?
