If you are a contextual advertisement publisher, imagine the revenue you can get if you know where people will look. Wouldn’t that be awesome? Imagine that you have that tool.
Of course it is.
To be honest, there isn’t such a tool. I wish there was. But I have seen something close enough.
Feng GUI is a free web service launched by artificial vision scientists and interactive designers. It attempts to imitate how human vision works, where people would look and find appealing.
How it works
There are two options you can choose from. You can either type in your URL or upload an image of your site. Feng-GUI then layers a heatmap on the image wherein it unveils the information about your website. The red part of the image would be where most people will look to when they are visiting your site.
More Goodies
- If you still want to more, Feng GUI also has it’s own Firefox Extension
- Feng GUI also has bookmarklets which you can use to bookmark a heatmap of a website with just one click
Looking at the heatmap produced for PinoyTech, I’d say the best part to put Adsense ads would be just below the menu. Of course I won’t be doing that
I suggest you try it out and tell me what you think.
