Firefox has been a very useful web development tool for me along with Firebug. It hasn’t failed me until recently when I received a dreadful error:

Firefox 3 crash message

A Firefox 3 crash? Something I haven’t experienced using Firefox in a while.

It has been 3 weeks since I’ve installed Firefox 3.0 (yes, RC3) and I haven’t been installing much Add-ons. Just my trusty Firebug and Ylow Add ons. I simply restarted the browser and thought it was simply an isolated case, probably an error on my system and not related to the browser itself. However the errors and crashes continued.

Researching, researching, researching. What is wrong with Firefox? It served me well for a couple of years. Could they have been developing bad software? I couldn’t believe what I was thinking.

At last, after a few days of researching, I finally got the culprit. An Add-on that comes along the AVG Free Edition Anti-virus software.

I am so sorry Firefox. I will never never doubt you ever again….
